This Privacy Policy applies to the Mail Cleaner application and related pages (the "Service"). Mail Cleaner helps users review Gmail mailbox metadata, identify recurring senders, unsubscribe from mailing lists, and clean up inboxes with user-initiated actions.

Mail Cleaner is designed to process Gmail information only after a user chooses to sign in with Google and grant access. The app is privacy-first: scan results and account-specific app data are primarily stored on the user's device, and we do not use Google user data for advertising or other unrelated purposes.

Google user data obtained through Gmail API scopes is used only to provide and improve user-facing features in Mail Cleaner. It is not sold, transferred to data brokers, used for advertising, or used to train generalized AI or machine learning models.

Information We Collect

1.1 Information from Google Sign-In

When you sign in with Google, we may receive basic account information made available by Google Sign-In, such as your email address, display name, and profile photo.

1.2 Gmail Data You Authorize Us to Access

When you connect a Gmail account, Mail Cleaner accesses only the Gmail data needed to provide the features you choose to use.

Mail Cleaner does not read or analyze email body content for its core scan and cleanup features.

1.3 Local App Data

Mail Cleaner stores app data on your device to make the app work properly and preserve your progress between sessions.

1.4 Support Communications

If you contact us for support, we may receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address and the contents of your message.

2

How We Use Information

We use the information described above only to operate Mail Cleaner and the features you request.

We do not use your Gmail data or Google user data for advertising, profiling for ad targeting, resale, building independent data sets, or training generalized AI or machine learning models.

3

Google User Data and OAuth Scopes

Mail Cleaner requests the minimum Gmail scopes currently required by implemented features in the app.

https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.readonly
Used to read Gmail metadata needed for inbox scanning, sender detection, category counts, and unsubscribe header discovery.
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.modify
Used for user-initiated mailbox actions such as deleting or trashing email, changing labels, and sending unsubscribe emails when the user chooses that action.
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.settings.basic
Used when the user chooses to block a sender by creating a Gmail filter.

Google user data is used only to provide or improve user-facing features that are visible in Mail Cleaner. We do not use Google user data for any other purpose.

4

How We Share Information

We do not sell Google user data or personal information. We do not share Google user data with advertisers, data brokers, or information resellers.

We share information only in the limited situations below.

5

Storage, Retention, and Security

5.1 Local Storage

Mail Cleaner primarily stores account-specific app data on your device, including scan caches, detected subscriptions, counts, and cleanup history.

5.2 Retention

We keep information only as long as needed to provide the Service, satisfy legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Local app data remains on your device until you remove it, sign out, or delete the app.

5.3 Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information processed by the Service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to reduce risk and limit access appropriately.

6

Your Choices

If you revoke Google access, Mail Cleaner will no longer be able to access Gmail data for that account until you sign in again.

7

Children's Privacy

Mail Cleaner is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take appropriate steps to delete that information.

8

International Users

If you use Mail Cleaner from outside the country where we operate, your information may be processed in other jurisdictions as necessary to provide the Service and respond to support requests. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such processing.

9

Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect product, legal, or operational changes. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
